Choosing an Agent

Consider these questions when you are putting your trust in someone to find the best Community for you:
  1. Have they sold homes in the community you are interested in? Ask if your agent can introduce you to owners who have purchased a home through them. If not, that agent may not have the experience you need in that community!
  2. Ask the agent to introduce you to neighbors in a community you are interested in. If an agent hesitates, that agent may not be the right one for you.
  3. Ask for referrals from neighbors in the community. Often you’ll find one or two agents have sold many of the homes in the area. These are the agents you’ll want to work with.
  4. Avoid Part Time or family friends just getting started in the Real Estate business. Often you’ll find they may not ask all of the questions you need to ask when buying a home.
  5. Look for experience. Realtors with experience have credentials such as GRI, ABR, CRS, ePRO. These agents have the training and commitment to their profession which means better service for you!
  6. Do they live in a 55+ Community?
  7. Do they provide national referral service and information about Real Estate in the area you want to relocate to?
  8. Is the agent willing to ask all of the questions on the Choosing a Community Checklist? If not, you’ll need an agent who will!
